DC Health officials initially ordered the CVS Pharmacy, 2000 L St NW, food section closed January 7th, citing "rat droppings observed in different places."
Details of this second closure - ordered Thursday - have not been released, but a preliminary District report identifies the violation as "failing to minimize the presence of insects, rodents and other pests on the premises."
CVS issued a statement Friday indicating although the food section remained closed, the pharmacy and other parts of the store are open.
"Most recent findings from the board of health report were all in the stockroom," the CVS statement said. "We have our pest control service back at the store today along with a construction team to search for any points of access and block as needed."
