Arrest made in connection with a teenage boy killed in Woodbridge shooting, police say

Police say the shooting does not appear to be random.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A teenage boy died after a shooting in Woodbridge early Tuesday. Police have made an arrest in connection to his death.

Prince William County Police officers were called to the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Court, near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Delaware Drive, just before 1 a.m. When officers got to the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy had been shot.

A spokesperson for the police department said the boy was taken to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. He later died.

On Sunday, police said a 15-year-old boy has been arrested on multiple charges related to the death of the 17 year old. They have both been identified as South Carolina residents but their identities have not been released. Police claim the two boys were allegedly conspiring to rob an 18-year-old resident of the apartments on Lost Canyon Court, who has been identified as the shooter.

Investigators say the incident does not appear to be random. Police urge anyone who may know anything about this shooting to contact them at 703-792-6500.
