FAIRFAX, Va. — Police in Kansas have arrested and charged a man with possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The investigation into the allegations is connected to a minor in Virginia.
Detectives arrested William Riddell, 40, on March 30 after it was reported he may have had a sexual relationship with a minor in Fairfax County. During the investigation, police recovered evidence of CSAM belonging to Riddell.
Prior to his move to Kansas, Riddell privately taught music in the Chantilly area. He was also employed by Loudoun County Public Schools between 2008 and 2013 as a part-time substitute teacher. In 2012, Riddell was a non-FCPS employee at Chantilly High School.
Detectives believe there may be more victims and are looking to speak to anyone who believes they or their children may have experienced any abuse by Riddell. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 703-246-7800, option '4'.
The initial report of a relationship with a minor is still under investigation. Riddell is being held by the Salina Police Department in Kansas pending extradition to Fairfax County.
