UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A shooting in the Upper Marlboro community of Prince George's County, Maryland on Thursday has left one teenage boy dead and another hospitalized.
Correction: The Prince George's County Police Department previously said both teens had died, but they have corrected that to say the second teen is in the hospital whose condition was described only as "stable."
Around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of two teens shot in the area of Rock Spring Drive and Parkstone Drive.
Once at the scene, officers located two teenage boys suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police say one teen was pronounced dead at the scene and the other teen was taken to an area hospital where he remains hospitalized. The teen who died has been identified as 17-year-old Michael Nwaulu of Upper Marlboro.
Detectives are working to establish any suspects and a motive in this incident.
The investigation into this shooting is active and ongoing.

A suspect is in custody after a man was stabbed to death inside the Petworth Neighborhood Library in Northwest D.C. on Thursday night, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
A call came in to police dispatchers around 7 p.m. regarding a stabbing that had occurred at the library in the 4200 block of Kansas Avenue, Northwest.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a stab wound.
He was pronounced dead.
A suspect was taken into custody in connection to the stabbing.
According to Ashan Benedict, executive assistant chief of police, the suspect and victim appeared to be experiencing homelessness and were known to each other.
