'Everybody's mad!' | The tires on 27 cars slashed in Fairfax County

Fairfax County Police say they responded to Arlington Boulevard just after 1 a.m. Wednesday.

WEST FALLS CHURCH, Va. β€” Police are investigating after more than two dozen cars were found with slashed tires early Wednesday morning in Fairfax County.

"I go to start driving and go to my job, and I see the two flat tires," said Pablo as he worked to replace one of his two slashed tires Wednesday night. He told WUSA9 he was shocked when he saw his car like that, especially since he just got it a few weeks ago.

"I buy this car I think like three weeks ago and now I need to buy tires. The tires are $500," said Pablo.

He was even more shocked when he realized his car wasn't the only one that was hit.

Fairfax County Police confirmed to WUSA9 Wednesday night, that the tires on at least 27 cars were slashed. A department spokesperson said they were called to Arlington Boulevard around 1 a.m. for reports of 'vehicle tampering'.

"Everybody's mad and the worst part is we don't have any footage of the person," explained Katy.

She found her car's front tire slashed when she came out to go to school Wednesday morning.

Neighbors say this has happened before, but they hope it doesn't happen again.

"It impacts us because this money, we need it for food, to pay rent, bills. So now we need to pay these things. It's very hard," explained Pablo.
