SILVER SPRING, Md. — Police in Montgomery County are asking for the public’s help in identifying three teenage girls caught on camera attacking a beauty store owner after being confronted for stealing back in March. No arrests have been made so far.
Police say the theft and assault that was caught on camera happened Friday, March 3 at the Beauty Pro inside the Ellsworth Place mall on Colesville Road in downtown Silver Spring.
Investigators say the three girls had previously stolen from the same shop just days earlier. When the owner at the cash register confronted the trio, video shows all three girls coming around the counter and punching the man several times.
The severity of the beauty shop owner's injuries is not known at this time.
Other customers are seen in the video entering the store during the beating.
Police are asking anyone who may know or recognize the girls to contact Montgomery County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. The police department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
