WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating a shooting in Southeast, D.C. that left a teenager critically injured Tuesday night.
Just after 8:20 p.m., officers were sent to the 400 block of Orange Street, SE for reports of a shooting. Once there, police found a person who had been shot in the stomach. Police later said the boy was 16 years old.
The teenager was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries, police said. No further identifying information has been given.
Police are searching for a black car with tinted windows seen leaving the area of the shooting. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact police at 202-727-9099, or to text the department's anonymous tip line at 50411.
