14-year-old held without bond for senior skip day shooting in Greenbelt that left 5 injured

The teen is accused of being involved in the shooting that left five people hurt, and then running away from the park.

GREENBELT, Md. — A second teen charged in connection to a unsanctioned senior skip day shooting that left five people injured in Greenbelt has been ordered to be held without bond.

The 14-year-old is accused of being involved in the shooting at Schrom Hills Park on April 19. After the shooting, the teen ran away. A 16-year-old has also been charged in connection to the shooting. Police believe there were only two shooters.

During a bond hearing on Thursday, the state requested the teen be held without bond as they are determined to be a threat to public safety.

Both alleged shooters were arrested on April 29 and have been charged as adults.

Body-worn camera footage of the shooting was released via the Greenbelt Police Department.

It shows several people frantically running from the park after shots were fired.

Anyone with information or video of the Schrom Hills shooting that could help the investigation is urged to contact police at 301-474-7200 or email CRIMETIPS@greenbeltmd.gov.
