ROCKVILLE, Md. — A 13-year-old boy is facing charges after he and two younger children allegedly broke into two businesses in Rockville early Tuesday morning.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, the 13-year-old boy was with an 11-year-old and 12-year-old when the trio forced their way into a Superior Auto Service along Wilkins Avenue around 1 a.m.
Investigators say the boys stole property before leaving the business. While officers were at the Superior Auto Service, they received word of a second burglary at RMA Transportation just less than a quarter-mile down the road.
The boys were accused of entering the transportation business, which was closed at the time. Employees found the boys inside and confronted them, causing the trio to run away.
The boys were found with the reportedly stolen property on them a short time later.
The 11 and 12-year-old boys have since been released to their guardians but the 13-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and conspiracy before he was too released to his guardians.
Police have not said what property was taken from the businesses.
