WASHINGTON — Police have announced an arrest in connection to a Northwest D.C. shooting back in June that left a boy injured.
On June 2, at 11 p.m., officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, Northwest for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers found a boy who had been shot. He was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation revealed that a large fight involving the suspect and victim had occurred prior to the shooting. Police say when the victim fled from the fight, the suspect chased after him and fired shots. Video footage shows the suspect pointing and shooting a gun at the victim. Investigators say the victim was struck by gunfire.
On Monday, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, members of the Carjacking Task Force located and arrested a 15-year-old boy of Northeast, DC. He is charged with assault with intent to kill (gun) for his alleged involvement in the June shooting.
Police will not reveal his identity due to his age.
