TAKOMA PARK, Md. — A group of five boys beat a man unconscious and stole his car early Tuesday morning. Takoma Park Police are still searching for the boys and the stolen vehicle.

According to officers with the Takoma Park Police Department, the beating and robbery happened around 4 a.m. in the 700 block of Ethan Allen Avenue, which is not far from Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School. The man parked his Nissan Rogue in a lot and began walking to his apartment building. As he approached the building, the group, seated on the steps, demanded he hand over his car keys.

The man refused, and the five boys beat him up, taking his keys from his pocket. The man's spouse heard the beating and ran outside to find the man lying on the ground unconscious, but breathing. Police say the man was taken to the hospital with injuries. He is expected to be ok.

The boys were last seen speeding away in the man's car on Ethan Allen Avenue toward New Hampshire Avenue. The stolen car is described as a black 2012 Nissan Rogue with Maryland plates, 7CD6815.

Police searched the area for the car, but were not able to find it. Police say the investigation is ongoing. They ask anyone with information to contact them at 301-270-1100 and refer to case number 240053038.
