WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help for identifying an individual who shot at a special police officer in Southeast D.C. Wednesday evening.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, just before 6:25 p.m., the suspects involved and a special police officer, who was working at a business on the 400 block of 14th Street Southeast, were arguing. As they left the location, one of them fired a gun toward the officer.
Both of them then left the area, and no one was injured in the altercation.
Through an investigation, officers were able to retrieve photos of the suspects involved on surveillance cameras. In the photos they can be seen wearing dark colored clothing and masks. Police have also added a red arrow pointing to the person they are looking for when it comes to firing the gun at the officer.
Anyone who can identify these suspects or has any information about this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
