WASHINGTON — New surveillance video released by the Metropolitan Police Department shows multiple persons of interest in connection to a homicide in Northeast.

The shooting took place on November 1 in the 100 block of 44th Street, Northeast, just before 4 a.m.

Once on 44th Street, officers discovered 28-year-old Dwaun Simpson of Southeast D.C. unconscious after being shot. Simpson was pronounced dead.

Surveillance footage captured images of the suspects involved in the shooting. Police hope the video, which has now been released to the public, will lead to critical tips that could bring justice for Simpson and his family.

In the video, which can be viewed on YouTube, the suspects are seen near the area where the shooting took place. Police are urging anyone who recognizes the individuals or has any information about the shooting to come forward.

While the investigation remains ongoing, MPD is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Anyone with knowledge of the crime is urged to contact police at (202) 727-9099, or anonymously text tips to the Department’s tip line at 50411.

As the investigation continues, MPD is asking the public to remain vigilant and report any relevant information that could assist in solving this case.
