Surveillance camera captures moment a 19-year-old man was killed, 2 others shot in District Heights

The video is disturbing and should be watched with caution.

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, Md. — Newly obtained surveillance video captured the moment 19-year-old Anthony Ward III was killed and two others were shot in District Heights Monday afternoon.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the shooting happened in the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike around 3:15 p.m.

The video is disturbing and should be watched with caution.

In the video, Ward can be seen walking behind a U-Haul van along with the other two unidentified victims, one of whom appears to be using a walker.

The video then continues to show a black car pull up to the area and three or four men get out. The men then start shooting at Ward, killing him.

The other two victims, a man and a woman, were taken to an area hospital. Last we heard the woman was in surgery and the man was in stable connection.

Another angle of the video gives a closer look at the shooters, one of whom appears to be using a semi-automatic weapon.

Detectives do not believe this to be a random attack. Anyone with information may contact detectives at (202) 727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411.
