LANHAM, Md. — A man is facing multiple charges after he stabbed a woman to death Tuesday morning in Lanham.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Lanteen Street, off of Annapolis Road, around 11 a.m. after a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds inside of her home.
The woman, later identified as 47-year-old Wendolyn McKoy, was taken to the hospital for treatment, but she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Through an investigation it was revealed that 50-year-old Kevin Derr, of Alexandria, Virginia, stabbed McKoy during an argument, police said. He then left her and the location.
The police department says that the two were in a prior relationship with each other.
Several hours after the deadly stabbing Derr was located in D.C., where he remains pending extradition to Prince George's County. He is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges, according to police.
