WASHINGTON — A man was killed in a shooting Friday evening near Nationals Park, and D.C. Police say the suspect is still at-large.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) was called to the scene at South Capitol Street near M Street Southwest around 6:48 p.m., and responding officers say they found a man shot but conscious and breathing. The man, identified as 28-year-old Marc Butler Jr., was taken to a local area hospital for treatment, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

MPD says it is searching for a man with a beard, wearing all dark clothing, as a suspect in this case. Police have not shared any other details about the victim or the suspect so far.
