CAMP SPRINGS, Md. — Police are searching for answers in a shooting that left a man dead in Camp Springs early Sunday.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to the 6300 block of Suitland Road around 3:15 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot.
He was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he was pronounced dead a short time later. The man has been identified as 47-year-old Darryl Hazel, of Suitland.
Detectives are working to determine what happened that led up to the killing as well as the person responsible. The investigation is active and ongoing.
