Second suspect arrested in fatal Northeast shooting from summer of 2023

On Wednesday, police located and arrested 25-year-old James Outland and charged him with First Degree Murder while Armed.

WASHINGTON — D.C. Police have announced the arrest of a second man believed to be involved in the murder of Tavonayna Glenn. 

On Wednesday, police located and arrested 25-year-old James Outland and charged him with first-degree murder while armed. 

On June 28, 2023, at 10:08 p.m. officers were called to the 700 block of 19th Street, Northeast for reports of a shooting. When they arrived, police found Glenn suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police released a video in July 2023, searching for three suspects believed to be involved in the shooting. This is still an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding Glenn’s death is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099.
