GAITHERSBURG, Md. — From stolen electronics to missing cosmetics, a group has been hitting stores across Montgomery County, and police are asking for your help to stop them.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police are investigating a series of retail thefts in Bethesda and Chevy Chase, Maryland, involving CVS Pharmacy, Target, and Gap stores.
From August through November 2024, a group of suspects entered multiple stores, grabbed merchandise, and left without paying. Authorities have released surveillance footage and images of the suspects, urging the public to help identify them.
Between Aug. 11 and Nov. 24, the thefts occurred at the following locations:
- Sunday, Aug. 11 – CVS Pharmacy at 3820 Chaplin Place
- Friday, Aug. 23 – Target at 6831 Wisconsin Avenue
- Monday, Aug. 26 – CVS Pharmacy at 3820 Chaplin Place
- Thursday, Sept. 12 – Target at 6831 Wisconsin Avenue
- Wednesday, Oct. 2 – Gap at 5430 Wisconsin Avenue
- Friday, Oct. 11 – CVS Pharmacy at 7809 Wisconsin Avenue
- Friday, Oct. 11 – CVS Pharmacy at 3820 Chaplin Place
- Thursday, Nov. 14 – Target at 6831 Wisconsin Avenue
- Sunday, Nov. 24 – Target at 6831 Wisconsin Avenue
Detectives reviewed store surveillance footage from each incident and have now made the video and images available to the public. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the suspects or the thefts to come forward.
The Montgomery County Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously via Crime Solvers of Montgomery County’s website at www.crimesolversmcmd.org or by calling 1-866-411-8477. The P3 Tips platform allows tipsters to remain anonymous, and rewards are available for information that leads to an arrest.
