WASHINGTON — D.C. Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at Fort Dupont Park.
On Saturday, police were called to Fort DuPont Drive for reports of a person unconscious in the park at 2:30 p.m. When officers arrived they found a woman lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.
First responders arrived on the scene and pronounced the woman dead. She has since been identified as 21-year-old Ambria Farmer.
WUSA9 spoke to Farmer's family, they said Farmer loved her family, her friends and loved living and enjoying her life.
This is an active investigation, police are working to piece together the events that led up to the shooting.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call police at 202-727-9099. A reward of $25,000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
