WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help identifying the person who shot and injured a man in Northeast D.C. Saturday morning.
Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast, just before 11:30 a.m. after a report of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound nearby.
The man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that are said to not be serious.
The shooter in the case was caught on nearby surveillance cameras, and now police have released the photos asking for the community's help locating them.
In a social media post, DC Police say they are searching for a person with black hair and around five feet, two inches tall. They were on a moped at the time and armed with a black handgun.
Anyone who can identify this suspect and/or this vehicle, or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
