Police investigate double shooting in Southeast DC

Two people were wounded in the shooting, both have only been identified as men.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a double shooting in Southeast D.C. Monday night.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 3000 block of Stanton Road SE for reports of a shooting shortly before 8:30 p.m.

Two people were wounded in the shooting, both have only been identified as men.

One of the victims was conscious and breathing when first responders took him to an area hospital. The second victim was not conscious and their condition is currently unknown.

No information has been released regarding any suspect information.

It is unclear what the motive behind the shooting was or what happened in the moments leading up to the shooting.
