WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a double shooting that left a 16-year-old dead in Southeast D.C. Friday afternoon.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2800 block of Langston Place, Southeast shortly before 4:30 p.m. for reports of gunshots in the area.
When officers arrived, a man who had been shot approached them. While helping the man, the officers heard more gunshots a block away and later found a second victim, a 16-year-old boy. Both victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment, where the 16-year-old died from his wounds. The teenager was later identified as Darren Johnson of Southeast D.C.
Investigators are on the lookout for a man wearing all black clothing with white writing on the back. He was last seen running away from the 2800 block of Langston Place SE.
