WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a double shooting that left a 16-year-old dead in Southeast D.C. Friday afternoon.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 2800 block of Langston Place, Southeast shortly before 4:30 p.m. for reports of gunshots in the area.
When officers arrived, a man who had been shot approached them. While helping the man, the officers heard more gunshots a block away and later found a second victim, a 16-year-old boy. Both victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment, where the 16-year-old died from his wounds.
Investigators are on the lookout for a man wearing all black clothing with white writing on the back. He was last seen running away from the 2800 block of Langston Place SE.
Police have blocked the roadway between the 2700 and 2800 blocks of Langston Place while investigating. It is unclear when those roads will reopen.
