Police investigating broad-daylight homicide in Northeast DC

The shooting happened just before 1 p.m., according to police.

WASHINGTON — Police are still searching for suspects in a broad-daylight shooting that left a man dead Thursday afternoon.

Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers were called to the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue Northeast for a report of a shooting around 12:45 p.m. Thursday. Maps of the area show several businesses in the area including a DLTR clothing store and a Safeway. 

Homicide detectives were called after an adult male was pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.

Investigators are still searching for suspects in this shooting and asked the public to be on the lookout for a black or brown Nissan with D.C. tags GN2418.

Detectives are still working to determine what led up to the shooting.

The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Stacey Jahmal Selby of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to any that provides information which leads to an arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible.
