Second person arrested after 3 men shot in Leesburg

Officers were called to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road Northeast for a shooting just before 8 p.m.

LEESBURG, Va. — Police say an arrest has been made after three young men were shot and hospitalized in Leesburg Thursday night. 

Leesburg Police Department officers were called to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road Northeast for a shooting just before 8 p.m. Once on scene, police said they found three men in their late teens who had been shot. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. They are all expected to recover.

On Friday, investigators announced the arrest of 19-year-old Sylvanus Massaquoi of Sterling, Virginia, for the crime. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He is currently being held without bond at Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

Police announced the arrest of a second suspect Friday night. Zeon Garner, 21, of Herndon, Virginia, has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm. He has since been taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is held on no bond.

Police have not yet released any details about what led up to the shooting. They ask anyone who may have information to help detectives to call them at 703-771-6417. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 703-443-TIPS.
