GERMANTOWN, Md. — Two people have been taken into custody after Montgomery County Police officers responded to a report of a burglary in Germantown early Monday morning. Police pursued the burglary suspects, and the driver rammed two police cruisers in an attempt to escape.

According to Montgomery County Police, officers were called to the Buckingham Station condo complex on Waterford Hill Boulevard for a burglary just after 1 a.m.

Once officers arrived at the condo complex, a pursuit ensued a short time later. During the pursuit, the driver intentionally drove into two police cars, investigators said. No officers were hurt. Eventually, both people were taken into custody.

Both burglary suspects were also taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, but the severity of the injuries is not yet known. Police have not identified the two people involved, or specifically said what charges they are facing.

It is not clear whether the police department will be releasing body-worn camera or dashboard camera footage of the incident.
