Metro employee stabbed at Braddock Road station in Alexandria

Police say the employee's injury was "significant."

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Police are asking for the public's help to find a man who stabbed a Metro employee Sunday morning at a station in Alexandria. 

Metro Transit Police say the stabbing happened around 10 a.m. at the Braddock Road Metro Station at 700 N. West Street. Police say a Metro employee was attacked and sustained an injury described as significant. The circumstances surrounding the stabbing and what led up to it have not yet been made public. Metro Transit Police (MTPD) said the wanted man was captured on surveillance video at the station. Photos of the wanted man can be seen below.

Anyone who may recognize the man seen in the photos or knows where he may be is urged to contact police at 202-962-2121 or text MyMTPD at 696873 followed by your tip.

Police are also investigating a pair of stabbings in Montgomery County near the Twinbrook Metro station. It is not yet known whether the Braddock Road attack is connected to those stabbings in Maryland.
