Man and woman shot in Southeast DC

Both victims were taken to an area hospital for help and are expected to survive.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after two people were shot in Southeast D.C. Wednesday evening.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Barnaby Terrace just before 5:45 p.m.

When officers arrived they found a woman who had been shot. A short time later, a man who had been shot was found in the 900 block of Varney Street. Both victims were taken to an area hospital for help and are expected to survive.

While no suspect description has been released, police are searching for a dark-colored 4-door sedan. The car was captured by a nearby surveillance camera.
