DC Police asks for public's help identifying armed carjacking suspect

One suspect pointed a gun at the victim while the other removed the man from his car.

WASHINGTON — DC Police have released photos of a man wanted for his alleged involvement in an armed carjacking on K Street in hopes of having the public's help identifying him.

On Dec. 16 at 4:40 p.m., police say two suspects approached the victim while he was inside of his car in the 300 block of K Street, Southeast. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim and the other removed the man from his car. The suspects then drove off in the victim's car. 

Investigators describe one of the suspects as a man wearing a black jacket, black pants, and grey New Balance sneakers. He was captured by nearby surveillance cameras and can be seen in the photos below:

Anyone who can identify the suspect or who has knowledge of the carjacking should call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's Text Tip Line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
