Police: Man waiting at DC bus stop stabbed in stomach, robbed

The man was taken to a local hopsital for treatment, and is expected to survive.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating a stabbing and robbery that happened early Tuesday morning at a bus stop in Southwest, D.C. 

According to the police report, a man was waiting at a bus stop in the 4600 block of South Capitol Street, SW around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday when he was approached by another man. The suspect allegedly said "give me that shit" and then punched the man in the head and stabbed him in the stomach with a silver blade. 

The man stabbed told police the other man stole $50 from his pocket and took his iPhone before running away, heading west on South Capitol towards Elmira Street. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, and was conscious and breathing at the time. No further update on his condition has been given.
