PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Police are investigating after a man caught a ride to D.C. on a school bus while students were on board.
According to the Prince George's County Police Department, officers were called to the 4100 block of Suitland Road just after 2 p.m. Wednesday. The person who called the police said they witnessed a man on board a school bus that was carrying elementary school students.
Officers located the bus within minutes and found all the students were safe and the man was no longer on board.
Investigators say the bus driver knew the man and may possibly be related to him. The driver allegedly picked up the man and drove him to D.C., bringing the students along and later returning to the county.
The man who was dropped off may have been involved in a fight with another man in the 3900 block of Suitland Road before boarding the school bus. Officers said he may have been armed during the fight but did not bring a gun on the bus.
Police are working to find the man who was dropped off in D.C. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Solvers.
