Man shot to death in Southeast DC

When police arrived the man was not breathing due to his injuries.

WASHINGTON — A man was shot and killed in Southeast D.C. Tuesday night, sparking an investigation into what happened.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to 18th Street Southeast, nearby T Street Southeast, around 10 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from injuries. He was said to not be conscious, as well as not breathing, at the time.

Police have confirmed to WUSA9 that the man was pronounced dead at the location. His identity has not been released at this time, this includes his name, age, and where he is from.

On social media, the police department stated they are looking for someone in connection to the shooting. They have been described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans when it happened.

Anyone who has knowledge of what happened should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
