WASHINGTON — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Southeast D.C. Thursday evening. Detectives say this represents the 4th homicide of the new year.
At 6:08 p.m., officers with the Metropolitan Police Department got a call for a shooting at the intersection of 40th and Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast. At the scene, officers found a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was not conscious or breathing and was pronounced dead.
Police have since identified the victim as 66-year-old Sherman Bunch, of Northeast, DC.
