Man shot to death in District Heights

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot to death. Police have not identified the man at this time.

Police are investigating a deadly shooting in District Heights Thursday evening.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the shooting happened in the 6500 block of Hil-Mar Drive around 7 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot to death. The victim was identified Friday as 22-year-old Za’marco Fogg of District Heights. Detectives do not think the shooting was random.

"I'm not scared of anything, but Lord Jesus himself," said Destiny Johnson, who came to the area after her parents heard gunshots.

"I would hope that somebody would think twice before making such an egregious decision with the children around and not even just the children but we all as adults are human," she added.

Detectives are working to figure out what happened in the moments leading up to the shooting and any possible motive. They do not believe the shooting to be random.

There is no word on any suspect description.
