TEMPLE HILLS, Md. — Police are searching for the person responsible for shooting and killing a 22-year-old man in Temple Hills late Sunday night.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded around 11:20 p.m. to Southern Avenue, nearby the D.C.-Maryland state line, after receiving a report for a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a man inside of an apartment building suffering from injuries due to the shooting.
The man was pronounced dead at the location. He was later identified as 22-year-old Louis Smith Jr. of Greenbelt.
Detectives are working to establish persons of interest in the deadly shooting case as well as a motive for the crime.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
