LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — A 66-year-old Herndon man will spend the next year and a half in prison after being caught attempting to solicit a 14-year-old child for sex.

Julio Camajuare Cisneros was sentenced Tuesday on one count of using a communications system to propose a sex act to a minor. He will serve the next year and a half in prison on the condition he doesn't violate the terms of his release or probation.

A recent undercover sting operation conducted by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies resulted in six men being arrested for similar crimes. During the operation, police posed as a 14-year-old child and engaged in chat messages with the men including Camajuare Cisneros in April. In these chat messages, Camajuare Cisneros acknowledged the age of the alleged 14-year-old and asked for sex. Police gave Camajuare Cisneros an address to meet at in Sterling, where Camajuare Cisneros showed up with two Viagra pills and condoms.

"This predator was prevented from harming any children in this instance, but operations like this one are necessary to detect and isolate these predators before they harm the most vulnerable members of the community — our children," said Commonwealth’s Attorney Bob Anderson. "The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Northern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, the Virginia State Police, and the United States Secret Service are all to be commended for their untiring efforts in this sting operation, which netted a total of six individuals — all of whom will be adjudicated separately. This case spotlights the important role that parents and other caregivers have in safeguarding their children from hazards that can be associated with social media."

During the sentencing hearing, Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Shara LaRosa Krogh argued that "the Commonwealth has an interest in protecting the most vulnerable members of our community — children."

In addition to prison time, Camajuare Cisneros faces possible deportation after serving his time in prison. He will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
