Man found dead in parking lot of hospital in Alexandria

Police are working to determine what happened and led up to the man being found dead in the parking lot of the hospital.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A man was found dead in a parking lot in Alexandria early Wednesday morning, sparking a death investigation into what happened.

Officers with the Alexandria Police Department responded to INOVA Hospital, located on Seminary Road after a person was reported dead in the parking lot, according to a 4:16 a.m. social media post. It was later determined that a man was shot, and suffered from serious injuries resulting in his death.

His identity has not been released, this includes his name, age, and where he is from. It has also not been revealed where the man might have been shot at this point in the investigation.

Police are working to determine what happened and led up to the man being found dead in the parking lot of the hospital.

Detectives released photos of a gray four-door 2008 Mercedes Benz C with Virginia tags RX22K.
