Shooting in SE DC leaves man dead

Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot. He has since died from his injuries.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Southeast D.C. Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened near Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, and 13th Street, SE shortly before 12:30 p.m. 

Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot. He has since died from his injuries. 

The man has not been identified as police are working to contact his family. 

There is no word on any suspect description at this time or what may have happened in the moments leading up to the deadly shooting.
