Man charged with trying to film women while using the restroom or in the dressing room

He was arrested by the Frederickburg Police Department on July 18. Smith is being charged with unlawful creation of an image.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A man was arrested after police said he tried to film women while they were in the dressing room or in the restroom in Virginia, Fredericksburg police said. 

On May 2, officials said Eric Vincent Smith tried to film or take a photo of a woman while she was trying on clothes at Old Navy in the 1200 block of Carl D. Silver Parkway.

On May 14, police said Smith pointed his phone over the top of a stall while a female employee was using the restroom at a Hobby Lobby in the 1300 block of Carl D. Silver Parkway. 

He was arrested by the Frederickburg Police Department on July 18. Smith is being charged with unlawful creation of an image. He was released on a personal recognizance bond. 

No additional information has been released at this time.
