WASHINGTON — A 27-year-old D.C. man faces kidnapping and sex trafficking charges after police say he held a woman against her will and sexually assaulted her.
Investigators say Donjoeve Preston of Southeast, D.C. allegedly held a woman against her will in a home in the 300 block of Division Avenue, Northeast and forced her to engage in sex acts.
After a joint investigation, Preston was arrested and charged with kidnapping. He is also charged with simple assault, threats to injure or kidnap a person, assault with a dangerous weapon, and trafficking in commercial sex acts.
The joint investigation was conducted by detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Youth and Family Services Division and Special Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Washington Field Office, Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
The investigation into the sexual assault is active and ongoing.
