Police arrest man for his alleged role in a dangerous street takeover in Springfield

One driver struck an officer and then sped off in their car. Another officer chased after the car, but eventually ended the pursuit because of safety concerns.

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Police have located and arrested a Maryland man for his alleged role in a violent street takeover in Springfield on Easter Sunday where an officer was injured.

On April 19, Baltimore County Police, with help from Fairfax County Police, arrested Brandon Extecoc Santos, 20, of Parkville, Maryland. He's accused of  participating in the chaotic car meetup that occurred Easter morning. Santos was charged with abduction, assault of a law enforcement officer, wearing a mask in public, and obstruction of justice. He is currently being held in Baltimore County waiting for extradition back to Fairfax County.
