WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A man is facing charges after police say he killed his father and the family dog in Woodbridge.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 2500 block of Paxton Street for reports of a shooting.
Investigators say a family friend called police after he heard about a shooting at the home. When officers arrived, they found 29-year-old Christopher Tyler Rose at the home.
Christopher Rose is accused of shooting his father, 56-year-old Brian Christopher Rose, as well as the family's 1-year-old Labrador retriever. Both died at the home.
The father and son lived together at the home and were reportedly arguing when the deadly shooting happened. No one else was inside the home when Brian Rose was killed.
Christopher Rose was taken into custody as detectives continue to investigate what led up to the deadly shooting.
Christopher Rose is currently being held without bond on charges of murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and felony animal cruelty.
