Mail carrier robbed in Montgomery County

The letter carrier was not injured in the interaction.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Police are investigating after a mail carrier was robbed in Montgomery County Wednesday.

According to the Montgomery County Police Department, officers were called to the 3100 block of St. Florence Terrace around 2 p.m.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Team says the letter carrier was working their postal route when they were approached by a person who had a gun and robbed them. The suspect ran away and got into a black vehicle after the letter carrier complied with demands. 

The letter carrier was not injured in the interaction.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s. He is taller than 5-foot-10, with a slender build and was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue face mask covering his face and jeans. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455. Callers may remain anonymous. Officials are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
