Deputies: 19-year-old man shoots, kills his father in Loudoun County

A domestic dispute turned fatal in Ashburn.

ASHBURN, Va. — A 19-year-old man was arrested after the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said he shot and killed his father in Ashburn Friday evening.

The shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 22000 block of Leanne Terrace. Deputies say the victim, 50-year-old Ashburn resident Jerome Edward Thompson, was shot by his son, Jerome Edward Thompson Jr.

Thompson Jr. has been charged with second-degree murder, along with felony use or display of firearm. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
