HERNDON, Va. — A Fairfax County teenager is recovering in the hospital after being shot Monday night. Herndon Police officers were called to the 1000 block of Cavalier Drive around 9 p.m. to conduct an investigation.
According to investigators, a 16-year-old boy was shot after getting into a fight with a 17-year-old. The 16-year-old was shot multiple times and ran to his house. A family member took the boy to the hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition. The severity of his injuries is not known.
Detectives quickly identified the 17-year-old after conducting witness interviews. The suspect was taken into custody Tuesday morning. He has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, reckless discharge of a firearm and underage possession of a firearm. He is currently at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.
