GERMANTOWN, Md. — A Germantown tutor is facing charges after police say he sexually abused a student for nearly two years. Now, police are asking any other victims to come forward.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, 65-year-old Adi Yousef Najjar was arrested and charged with abuse of a minor and fourth-degree sex offenses on Tuesday.
Investigators say they became aware of Najjar in June after learning he allegedly sexually abused a minor between September 2022 and June 2024. The alleged abuse happened while Najjar was the victim's Islamic tutor.
Najjar turned himself into the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit on Aug. 21. He was later released on an unsecured personal bond.
Detectives are concerned there are more victims who have not contacted police. Anyone who may have been victimized by Najjar is asked to call SVID at (240) 773-5400 or Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS(8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
