Elementary school teacher in Fairfax County facing charges for assaulting multiple students

The assaults happened between September 2023 and April 2024.

BURKE, Va. — A special education teacher at an elementary school in Fairfax County is facing charges for assaulting multiple students.

Child Protective Services received notice that a teacher at White Oaks Elementary in Burke was seen assaulting a student on campus. Detectives with the Fairfax County Police Department were informed and initiated the investigation, determining that between September 2023 and April 2024, 62-year-old Elizabeth Nagagata, of Fairfax, assaulted three students on different occasions. 

The police department says Nagagata was arrested Friday and charged with seven counts of simple assault. Nagagata is being held at the Adult Detention Center without bond.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have information about this case or others possibly related. Those with information are asked to please call our Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option “4”.
