Shooting in Maryland leaves 1 man dead, police say

Another man was shot, but is expected to recover, according to police.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — One man is dead and another is injured after a fatal shooting in Prince George's County early Saturday morning. 

At around 4 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Iverson Street in Hillcrest Heights for reports of a shooting, Prince George's County police posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. 

They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and expected to recover, police say. 

One block over, in the 2400 block of Iverson Street, police say they found another victim suffering from gunshot wounds in a vehicle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed the two scenes are related, according to a preliminary investigation, police say.
