WASHINGTON — DC Police are searching for the drivers of two vehicles involved in a fatal hit and run involving a scooter.
On Friday, a vehicle and a scooter were traveling along Whitney Young Memorial Bridge in the center lane just after 10 p.m. The vehicle struck the back of a scooter that was carrying two men.
Both men were thrown off the scooter and ejected into the road. While in the road, the passenger of the scooter was hit by an oncoming car. The injuries the passenger sustained were fatal. Officials declared him dead at the scene.
The driver of the scooter was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Both vehicles fled the scene without rendering aid to the victims.
The identities of the victims are being held until next of kin are notified.
