Fairfax County Police take 2 into custody for Oakton homicide

Police said two people have been taken into custody, but did not provide more details

FAIRFAX, Va. — Police have taken two people into custody for a homicide Fairfax County over the weekend.

Officers were called to the the 9500 block of Route 29 near Oakton on Saturday for an unresponsive person. When they arrived, officials found a man. First responders arrived and declared the man dead at the scene. 

Detectives were called to the scene and began investigating the death as a homicide on Monday. 

The victim is described as a 20 to 30-year-old man. Police have not provided further information regarding his identity or why this investigation has now been ruled a homicide.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the department said two people had been taken into custody. WUSA9 expects to get more information later Tuesday.
